All About Giving
GENEROSITY CHANGES LIVES.
Every part of Community Church—from Sunday services to local outreach to kids programs—is made possible through the generosity of people who have chosen to regularly support the mission of this church.
This means that when you give to Community Church, you’re not just contributing to a budget—you’re directly enabling our ministry to continue and grow. Your generosity makes everything we do possible, from our weekend services to our community outreach initiatives.

WE TEACH GENEROSITY BY MODELING IT.
We don’t just ask people to be generous—we lead the way in generosity.
As an organization, we follow the biblical model of tithing, meaning 10% of the donations that come in are given away. That money goes to starting new churches, supporting trusted partners, and funding work that aligns with our mission to bring hope to people who’ve given up on church or faith. To see more about the impact that's being made visit communitychurch.net/impact.
We do this because we believe generosity is foundational—not just something we do when we have “extra.” It’s a reflection of our commitment to the biblical principle of giving first, even when resources are limited. We prioritize generosity because we believe it’s fundamental to our faith.
In light of that, our pastors and their families also personally tithe to Community Church, demonstrating their commitment to the same principles of generosity that they teach. This practice of “leading by example” is an important part of our church culture.

WE CHALLENGE PEOPLE TO GIVE.
At Community Church, we believe generosity is good for both the one who gives and the one who receives. Jesus taught that giving isn’t just about meeting needs—it’s about faith, trust, and growth.
For that reason, we don’t shy away from talking about money. We don’t pressure people to give, but we do challenge them to grow in generosity. We believe it’s a step worth taking—not just for the impact, but for the individual.

HOW THE BUDGET IS BUILT
Each year, our staff puts together a budget that reflects the real needs and plans of our church. This process involves careful consideration of our ministry goals, operational requirements, and growth opportunities.
Once that budget is drafted, it’s reviewed and approved by our Management Team—a group of trusted leaders who serve as the church’s Board of Directors. Their role is to ask questions, ensure accountability, and help us stay aligned with the mission.
The Management Team provides oversight and guidance, ensuring that our financial decisions align with our values and mission. This collaborative approach to budgeting helps ensure that we’re being good stewards of the resources entrusted to us.

HOW SALARIES ARE SET
The salary of the Lead Pastor is not determined by the pastor—it’s set by the Management Team, based on data from similar churches and organizations in our context. They use an outside compensation database to make sure the numbers are fair, responsible, and in line with what’s appropriate for churches like ours.
This approach ensures objectivity and accountability in determining leadership compensation.

THE MANAGEMENT TEAM
The Management Team serves as Community Church’s Board of Directors and plays a vital role in our financial oversight. This team is responsible for ensuring accountability, providing guidance, and helping the church stay aligned with its mission.
The Management Team relates directly to the Lead Pastor, and the staff members report to the Lead Pastor—creating a clear structure of accountability and responsibility.
This governance model is based on biblical principles of leadership and oversight. Initially, our Management Team included mature Christian representatives from established partnering churches and was facilitated by an Orchard Group representative. Over time, the team will transition to include more local leaders from within our congregation.
